Ren Fair Villages and Social Behavior
maybe like a picture of their houses and shops and stuff and then talk about all social behavior, general rules, whats ok whats not etc..
General Society
General ren fair monster society is very open and friendly. Ren fairs are free, and encouraged, to be themselves. Most ren fairs in a single village will either know or at least know of each other. Living places are generally very welcoming to guests and their presence is not considered a stressor. Ren fair society is very in tune with sharpening ones skills in any particular field, and many ren fairs have just a singular thing they they specialize in. Because of this ren fairs will often work together or contact other skilled rens if they need something done that they cannot do themselves. These favors are often repaid with the trade the asking ren fair is fluent in. |
Flower Children
Flower children are a sub culture of ren fair monsters, these specific ren fairs live away from ren fair villages in their own little encampments. Their homes are made from tapestries and rope, and can easily be moved or modified. These ren fair rarely eat cooked foods and mostly survive on fruits and hunted meats. They are enamored with the nature of Rarrah, and wish not to disturb it as much as they can, they instead wish to live along side it without clearing any foliage (though they sometimes host large bonfires in the desert that they will dance around wildly in the night). They are fascinated with music and are very free spirited. These ren fairs have given up their shards of telepathic metal tech and the easiest way to spot a flower child is by their usual adornment of a flower crown. |
Households
Ren fair households are usually multi level tree houses with walls made of tapestries and platforms made of woven rope and wood planks. Most ren fair tree houses are in climates that are hotter. Some ren fairs prefer the ground as opposed to the trees, and will create elaborate burrows underground that are much more stable and cozy. Most ren fair burrows are in climates that are cold or frequently get storms. Ren fair homes are usually adorned with the "personal colors" and "personal symbols" of the ren fair living within it. Each ren fair has its own set of colors and symbols it prefers and will usually wear clothing and items to match said theme. Each ren fair household and establishment has its own general set of rules (as well as some that might be specific to the house because of individual preferences). The most general house rules for a ren fair home are: • Only enter a dwelling if you are welcomed in. • Help with any cooking you might partake in. • Leave no harm to the dwelling and its contents. • Do not overstay your welcome. |
Social Behaviors
Ren fairs have a variety of social behaviors that they partake in that are unique to their species. Social cuddling and grooming- Ren fair monsters will often congregate in sunny areas and partake in social cuddling and grooming. Ren fairs are very cuddly and don't need to know the other rens well to cuddle with them. To ren fairs cuddling is a way to calm down and socialize and also receive and give comfort to other ren fairs. Grooming is usually done only by ren fairs who know each other well enough, and each ren fair has their own preference for familiarity in order to groom another ren fair. Grooming is done in order to bond and relax with known ren fairs. It also helps to clean any spots that ren fairs have a hard time reaching like the backs of their heads and necks. Ren fair "Kiss" Ren fair "kisses" are a type of greeting exchanged by two ren fairs who are very familiar with each other or possibly in a relationship. Ren fair kisses happen when two ren fairs press their mouth patches together in greeting. It is a sign of trust and affection. |
Gender and Sexuality
Ren fair culture is very open to all kinda of gender and sexual identities. To ren fairs, gender is a self defined trait that is unrelated to ones physical form. Preferance for lovers is also decided by the individual and has no negative connection in society. Ren fairs are free to be and love who they wish, however they feel comfortable. |
